Membership
Congregation Rodef Sholom exists for its members and the greater community, respecting their diversity and wide range of beliefs, backgrounds, lifestyles, and needs. We strive to be supportive, reaching out to newcomers to the community and to the congregation, to our established members, interfaith families, and friends. Our goal is to foster togetherness, warmth, and friendship. Congregation Rodef Sholom is affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ), made up of over 1,000 North American Reform congregations.
FAMILY MEMBERSHIP
Adult couples and families over the age of 35.
YOUNG FAMILY MEMBERSHIP
Young Family Membership is Adult couples under the age of 35. At the age of 35, the membership will transfer to a Family Membership.
OUT-OF-TOWN MEMBERSHIP
Out-of-town members live at least 50 miles away and have a primary synagogue affiliation outside the Youngstown Area, but wish to retain burial rights and receive the Temple Bulletin.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP
Associate members have a primary affiliation at another congregation, local or distant, but wish to be supportive of Rodef Sholom. They receive the Temple Bulletin.
BROTHERHOOD AND SISTERHOOD
Membership in Sisterhood and Brotherhood is free for the first year of Temple membership.
DUES RELIEF/ FINANCIAL AID
In keeping with the guidelines of the URJ, no one is refused membership because of financial difficulties. Requests for relief may be made directly to the Executive Director. Requests should be made in writing and sent to the Temple office. All requests are kept strictly confidential.
RELIGIOUS SCHOOL
Religious school fees are handled separately set by the Commission for Jewish Education and payable to it.
A.R.Z.A.
Members are encouraged to join A.R.Z.A., the Association of Reform Zionists of America, which supports the building up and strengthening of Reform Judaism in Israel.

Visitor Policy
All new visitors and out-of-town guests, joining us for services and programming, are expected to contact the office to ensure we are aware they are coming and can notify our security personnel accordingly.
