Reopening Committee Message

Dear friends,
The Re-Opening Task Force of Congregation Rodef Sholom met on March 18, 2021 to act on the following:
  • Members discussed recent changes to guidelines from the CDC and the state of Ohio as well as the changing impact of COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and access to vaccinations in Ohio and Pennsylvania.  Using the information gathered, the committee then reviewed and amended the phased reopening plan to reflect the current situation.
  • Based on the data, the building Re-opening Task Force determined that the temple can safely transition from Phase 1 into a Phase 2 re-opening of the building.  All Phase 1 in-person guidelines for staff, workers, and volunteers in terms of safety protocols remain in place for everyone who enters the building.
The members of the Re-opening Committee moved to enthusiastically recommend April 17, 2021 as the official re-opening date for Congregation Rodef Sholom; we would be reopening under ‘Phase 2.’ (Following Board Approval on April 14, 2021)

In Phase 2, in-person lifecycle events, meetings, and Shabbat Services can resume with certain restrictions (see enclosed guide).  Attendance is limited to 36 people and registration is required. Zoom services will also continue- in the hybrid fashion.

Reservations for Shabbat services must be made weekly and can be done by calling the temple office (330) 744-5001 or visiting: https://www.congregationrodefsholom.org/shabbatrsvp

Look for more detailed information to come in the next month on the temple’s Phased Re-Opening Plan and please contact your committee with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Samie Winick, Re-Opening Task Force Chair
Aaron Hively, President
Sarah Wilschek, Executive Director
Rabbi Paula Jayne Winnig, Interim Rabbi
